I would always allow following the user, giving back a message in a modal if no relays are found, explaining the consequences of this and possible solutions.

Currently, if a user has no relays it is not possible to follow him from the profile page, since the button is not present. Instead, the "follow" action is still active in the dropdown connected with the name, in every note. Similarly, is possible to follow a contact from the followed list just using their npub. I would always allow following the user, giving back a message in a modal if no relays are found, explaining the consequences of this and possible solutions.

I just realized that the button has disappeared because it has now been replaced by the "followed" toggle.
I would still keep it on the right, below the profile picture.
